This is something that is out of our geeky world but I think is something that we should care as responsible citizens of this country. Please read the article about Hurricane Katrina and if you would please read the article about the orgs taking donations to help the needy in the affected areas.

This has been such a tragedy and it feels good to know that multitudes of peoplefrom all over the nation are pitching in for the relief effort. Great thread and donation site.

Good to see people here that care. I just toured the area earlier this year (2007), and it really needs a lot more work. I hope there is some way to do better than we have done so far.
