Windows IIS Server (ASP)
FTP access
PhP 4.0 (minimum)
English desription of host

Choosing a web hosts may have several implications. If you upload your stuff on a server in a given country, you may be subject to the "law of the land" even if you are uploading your stuff from abroad. You can have an .it domain and choose with a U.S. web host if you like. However, .it and other european domains are expensive (taxes, taxes...). I refused to buy an .it domain just because it costs me 35 euros (why should i pay so much for it) and because IMHO hosting is generally expensive in Italy. If you are not sure about your new webhost see if they also accept payment via giro transfer. And that they have good credentials. Also, you might appreciate to find their terms of service on their homepage, and their feedback button not camouflaged in some hidden page.
